The Antioch Worship team is a place where our values for worship and discipleship collide.  Our desire is to raise up musicians, worship leaders, and songwriters who transform towns and nations.

Follow the instructions for your instrument in the menu to audition. If you are auditioning for multiple instruments or an instrument and vocals, please submit separate applications for each. If you have any questions, please contact worship@antiochcs.org.

EXPLORE WORSHIP LEADING

  • COMPETENCIES WE’RE LOOKING FOR IN ACOUSTIC GUITARISTS:

    • Ability to play to a click

    • Ability to play a song lick for lick

    • A basic understanding of the Nashville Number System

    • Ability to play different strum patterns

    • Ability to play with a capo and transpose

    • Ability to play to a click

    • Ability to rhythmically sync with a drummer

    • A basic understanding of the Nashville Number System

    AUDITION INFORMATION:

    Upon receiving your audition form, we will schedule a time for you to come audition in person. You can expect to hear back within 2 weeks about scheduling an audition.

  • COMPETENCIES WE’RE LOOKING FOR IN DRUMMERS:

    • Ability to play to a click

    • Ability to adjust your play style to maintain the integrity and atmosphere of the song’s original composition

    • Awareness of song arrangement, leading song dynamics and transitions rather than reacting to them.

    • Full sound with an emphasis on solid body and a powerful attack

    • Ability to listen and play in sync with the bass player

  •  COMPETENCIES WE’RE LOOKING FOR IN ELECTRIC GUITARISTS:

    • Ability to play to a click

    • Ability to play a song lick for lick

    • Ability to utilize overdrive, delay and reverb to create a full sound that supports the song’s original tonal palette.

    • A basic understanding of the Nashville Number System

  • COMPETENCIES WE’RE LOOKING FOR IN KEYS PLAYERS:

    • Ability to play to a click

    • Ability to play a song lick for lick

    • A basic understanding of the Nashville Number System

    • Ability to play chord inversions

    • Make smooth transitions between songs and other service segments

     

    YOUR AUDITION SONGS:

    Upon receiving your audition form, we will schedule a time for you to come audition in person. You can expect to hear back within 2 weeks about scheduling an audition.

  • COMPETENCIES WE’RE LOOKING FOR IN STRING PLAYERS:

    • Ability to play counterpoint

    • Simplicity in melody choice

    • Good tone quality

    • Ability to flow musically with a band

Under privacy settings, select “UNLISTED” and title it as “YOUR NAME – ANTIOCH CS WORSHIP AUDITION.” When you fill out the worship volunteer form below, there will be a place for you to paste the link to your YouTube video.  You are welcome to submit videos of a recent (within the last 6 months) live performance as well.

  • COMPETENCIES WE’RE LOOKING FOR IN VOCALISTS:

    • Ability to sing lead and harmony

    • Ability to control the primary attributes of the voice for example

      • Pitch

      • Dynamics

      • Vibrato

      • Breathiness

    • Good stage presence

    • Confident leadership

     

    MALE VOCALISTS:

    Please sing the majority of one of these songs - making sure to hit the main parts from the softer-moments to the loud moments. You can sing it in whatever key is best for your voice. You may sing with the song playing in the background, accompany yourself with an instrument, or sing it acapella.

    If you sing harmony, please sing harmony to the chorus and bridge of one of these songs along with the original song.

    FEMALE VOCALISTS:

    Please sing the majority of one of these songs - making sure to hit the main parts from the softer-moments to the loud moments. You can sing it in whatever key is best for your voice. You may sing with the song playing in the background, accompany yourself with an instrument, or sing it acapella.

There’s a first step for everything.

If you are early in your development as a musician or vocalist, we would love to help you navigate the questions of developing your skills and serving the church with your gift. We’ve found that with a little bit of feedback, a few good questions, and some insight into the life of a worship leader, most can find a lot of answers about their calling in this realm. If this sounds like something you’re interested in, just follow the steps below!

FIRST - Record a video of you singing or playing and post it to Youtube as an unlisted video (so your friends don’t see ◡̈)

SECOND - Click the button below to submit the video and answer a few questions about yourself for us.

That’s it! Give us a week or two and we’ll give you a call to have a conversation about where you’re at with your skill and simply talk about what it’s like to lead worship! Bring any questions you have - our goal is that you walk away with some encouragement, direction, and clarity.
