Cultivating strong marriages with Jesus at the center.

Rock On Premarital Discipleship equips engaged couples for healthy, thriving, lifelong marriages.

WHY PREMARITAL COUNSELING

We know that when marriages are built on biblical principles and truth, couples thrive. In Rock On, engaged couples are paired with a mentor couple who walks them through the Saving Your Marriage Before It Starts curriculum, addressing how to communicate with instant understanding, how to resolve conflict, how to address financial management, and how to experience deep intimacy, closeness, and joy in the covenant of marriage.

THE PRACTICALS

The engaged couple will meet with their mentor couple over a 4-6 month time period in the months leading up to their wedding. Six sessions are scheduled, and each session lasts up to two hours.

We highly encourage couples to sign up as soon as they are engaged. We will attempt to pair all engaged couples with a mentor couple, but placement depends on mentor availability and cannot be guaranteed.

Materials used during the sessions include:

  • Saving Your Marriage Before It Starts, a book by Les and Leslie Parrott

  • Corresponding His and Her workbooks that follow the book

  • Personalized SYMBIS assessment (taken online before beginning the program)

  • Engagement notebook

Topics covered in the sessions include:

  • Vision for Marriage & Sexual Purity

  • Well-Being & Expectations

  • Gender, Personality & Attitude

  • Communication & Conflict

  • Finances

  • Spiritual, Emotional, and Physical Intimacy

Engaged couples will spend an estimated 5 hours between each session working on homework and discussing the exercises. The cost to participate in Rock On is $65 and includes the materials listed above, which will be provided at the first meeting. When the sessions have been completed, the engaged couple is given a certificate, which can be used for a $60 discount off their marriage license!

We encourage each couple to be involved in a Lifegroup during their engagement period. When we submit ourselves to God and include His people in the journey, engagement can be an incredible season of growth and preparation!
